Across the diverse ecological landscape of our planet few places remain where human activity has not altered the function of endemic ecosystems. Where ecological impacts are slight and reversible, ecological health can be maintained over time by natural recovery. Where the impacts to land and water are strong and irreversible, ecological restoration is required. A century ago little consideration was given to the return of disturbed land to a natural state, yet today environmental quality is a societal priority.
Biosolids and agri-waste compost provide essential plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and zinc and organic matter for healthy crop trees, and promotes root growth by improving soil tilth, enhancing moisture retention, and encouraging earthworms. Severely disturbed soils can be reclaimed through the addition of biosolids and agri-waste compost to replace lost topsoil, improve soil fertility and stability, decrease soil erosion, aid revegetation and afforestation/reforestation. Thus, they have been used successfully to reclaim surface strip mines, large construction sites, parks, wetlands and landfills.
Our company is committed to the technical challenges of achieving land reclamation and afforestation. Our goal is to provide land reclamation and afforestation tools to designers, managers and practitioners in a cost-effective way. We provide our clients with a cost-effective plan for the use of biosolids and agri-waste compost to restore degraded ecosystems such as oil patches, mining sites, sites experiencing serious soil erosion, and to improve site quality and vegetation growth in heavily-grazed rangeland and multi-rotation, yield-declining plantation forests.
The following is the published papers and technical reports on the use of biosolids and agri-waste compost for land reclamation, revegetation and afforestation. Please register with us to download the following information you need for your projects.
